The Foil Project (TFP) began in 2021 when a group of Year 12 students teamed up with their teacher, Steve McLean, to build high-quality foil boards outside of school hours. After finishing these boards, Hugh Mitchell, Noah Matthews and Max De-Nardi started TFP Podcast, interviewing some of the best foilers and designers on the planet. In 2025, Hugh turned TFP into a coaching and video production business. Now, The Foil Project is so much more than just a podcast or coaching or board building: it stands for taking every opportunity at 110% and learning along the way, because you never know exactly what is coming next.
